Having trouble installing Blackra1n on 1st gen ipod touch.

I am having trouble installing Blackra1n on 1st gen ipod touch when I go to install Blackra1n I I open it up as run as admin in windows vista and it just stays on entering recovery. I am running 3.1.2. I might have done something wrond install installing it on there though I updated it first before I push the shift and restore button in itunes. Could that have made a differnces? I did restore it to 3.1.2 after I did that.If there is any help you could give me that would be great?
