Hello everyone I'm new here this is my first post. very neat and informative place

I have an I-Phone 3g model MB499L Modem Firmware 06.15.00 Version 3.1.3 (7E18)

Here's what I've been though. I bought this phone from C.L.to use as a back-up to my Inspire Using AT&T. I put my sim card in and could only get "No Service" or 1 bar sometimes. I decided to do a factory restore. well I got the 1015 error. Turns out the guy I got it from had jailbroke it and didn't tell me. I used tiny umbrella to get it going.

OK so anyway I have a working phone now but as you can tell I'm running 3.1.3 (I just picked an older version trying to get the phone going)

My question is can I update to the newest version with I Tunes or will I be back in the "Loop"

If I can't I don't mind Jailbreaking the phone. Probably will anyway. Is that the only way I can upgrade software from here on out.

I just want to run the latest software without going back to the loop

Thanks in advance

Max
