I bought an iPad (first gen) 64gb 3G model yesterday (March 22), 2011.) It came with iOS 3.2.2. I downloaded the 4.2.1 IPSW file, and did a Shift-Restore in iTunes, which failed due to iOS 4.3 being out and signed. I used limera1n to jailbreak the device on 3.2.2. I installed Cydia and backed up my SHSH blobs. I downloaded TinyUmbrella and saved my SHSH blobs and started the TSS server. NOTE: The only blobs in the list it claimed it saved were iPad 4.3. I tried to do the shift-restore 4.2.1 IPSW in iTunes with the TSS server, and it passes the server check, but failed out with error 1604. I downloaded iDEB, ran it and clicked on iPad. It left my iPad with a black screen, but claimed it was in recovery mode and ready. I did the shift-restore one last time and it finally went through to where the iPad has the updated running with the progress bar.
When the progress bar finished and the iPad rebooted, the screen was still black and iTunes claimed it was in recovery mode. I tried the "Fix Recovery" option in TinyUmbrella as well as the Auto-boot Loop revovery in iDEB option on the second tab, neither tool did anything. I downloaded greenp0ison and ran the jailbreak hoping it would reboot correctly, and while it finished the jailbreak, upon reboot, the screen stays black, no response to any buttons (reset, power, etc do nothing at all.) iTunes claims the device is still in recovery mode, but will not restore the 4.2.1 firmware. Is there any way to fix it?
EDIT: I gave up and updated to official 4.3 in iTunes. I will wait for the next unteathered Jailbreak which will hopefully be out soon.
