Just to let all you guys know that the Spirit jailbreak for iphone OS 3.1.3 has been released and works on all iphones/ipod touches and even gives an untethered jailbreak for the 2nd gen 3GS meaning you can reboot/turn your phone off and on without a pc needed.
I am really thinking about doing this..I have a few questions, maybe you can answer for me? It there a way to back up your current firmware version before jail-breaking? So you can always change back, just in case you have to send it in to get fixed? Once it is jail-breaked,can you still sync it up to itunes,so you can import music from your computer to my iphone? Thanks in advance.

I have a iphone 3G.
1. If you jailbreak your current firmware (assuming your on 3.1.3) and you need to send the phone for repair you can easily restore the phone and wipe all traces of the jailbreak so apple wont find out etc.
2. If you have jailbroken your phone it can be synced to itues as you normally would but you need to install a patch (AppSync for OS 3.1 if you want to install jailbroken apps) through cydia using the repo http://cydia.hackulo.us

Hello.. Yeah, i took some time today and jailbroke my iphone. I also added cydia to my sources,so i am good with that. I also Installed the program Installous 3.. Very nice program for apps but it is very buggy... I installed an app but when i go to run it,it trys to run, then it closes.. I don't know if its the app itself or Installous 3. Did you ever had that problem before?.. Thanks in advance.

This problem usually occurs when you havent installed the patch.
You need to install the AppSync for OS 3.1 patch through the http://cydia.hackulo.us repository

Yeah i already had the AppSync 3.1 installed. They updated Installous to 3.1,that fixed the bugs from 3.0. How i fix the App problem,When you go to download an app... It may give you different version #'s of that app. I was choosing the newest version for that App. On the apps that were giving me problems,i would just download the next best version number.. Everything works great now... I don't know how i got by without this wonderful phone.. I only had it 3 days,i been using it so much, that i had to charge it as many times... The wife was even getting mad at me :)) Thanks for all your help.
