I have a 2g phone that I had previously unlocked (on 2.01 version). I was looking to upgrade to 3.0, so I followed instructions, downloaded redsnow (zip file) with IPSW and 2 BL files, and following all instructions, I ended up with the message 'jailbreak data download' on my iphone, for a very long time and nothing happened.
Before running redsnow, I was told to restore my iphone, which I did, which was probably the biggest mistake. Now itunes doesn't recognize my SIM card, and my phone is locked (slide for emergency message).
I tried the process again and I still get the same message,'jailbreak data download'which stays on for a long time...
Could anyone please let me know what I did wrong, and if there is a way to correct what I did.

A bit confused here. This is from your guide: "Select your iphone, hold down shift, and then click on the restore button."
I better explain. I want to go from 2.2.1(original 2G iphone - /Jailbroken and Unlocked with Quickpwn) up to the 3 O/S. If I understand this correctly I must use redsnow to get the ver 3FW on and jailbreak it then use "ultrasnow" to unlock it. However the guide for using redsnow does say that I must restore the iphone. Can you clarify this. I am using WinXP on my PC to do this.

Simply Go to my Guide and use a Newly released program that you don't have to do anything, it does unlocking all by itself.
