Convert an "mkv" file to a DVD

Hello,
I have a 6GB MKV file (it's a movie) and I have been trying to convert it into a DVD burnable file. I have used DVD Flick, but the process has failed each time. The program basically stops working.
I have even tried in two different computers but it doesn't work.
Is it possible that the file is too big? I don't think that shiuld be an issue.
Anyway, so far I have used DVD Flick with all kinds of files and it has never had any trouble converting anything to DVD burnable files.
Is there a program out there that might work better than DVD Flick?

I had the chance to play with a couple of these programs, and the best one appears to be auto MKV.
I couldn't figure out how to make MKVToolNix convert the file to a DVD burnable file. I didn't find the option, I guess.
I had trouble installing SUPER. My antivirus detected some suspicious files in it.
Like I said, the best one seems to be Auto MKV. But the version available through that link must be some weird trial because it places the company logo on top of the converted file.
Does anybody know where to find a free trial that will not do anything funny like that?

SUPER doesn't contain any viruses your AV detected a false positive,it wouldn't be advertised on this site if it was a virus in any case as witenoiz has linked to is pretty good as well & should be fine or if not download from CNet or filehippo if it's there

Witenoiz, thanks for the link! I actually used the program you suggested and it converted the file to mpeg2 format without any problems. However, the video now looks full screen instead of wide screen. Have you ever had that issue, or did I just miss something when I set it up? BTW, I chose the option DVD NTSC when I did it.
If the file looked wide screen and if I wanted to oput it on a DVD, what should I do next? I usually use DVD shrink and Nero to make DVDs, but I have no idea what to do with an mpeg2 file. DVD Shrink would not open it.
Sorry for asking such basic questions. And thanks for your help!

Select Customize movie .AVI click frame size and you will get a drop down menu (I use 640x480) DVD Shrink won't know what to do with an avi. I still have a box with XP Pro so I can use Nero 7 - you can make the movie with that. Better yet, buy a DivX capable DVD player and it will play *.avi files.

I downloaded Dvd Flick, Converted 4 mkv 1 hr tv shows into avi's ran them through
dvd Flick, selected convert to DVD or whatever it calls them and after a little over 2 hours had a folder in my documents titled dvd. I ran that through VOB Blanker ( I always do that ) then burned the folder I put them in with DVD Shrink/Nero 7. I am going to watch them now - they work, I just want to watch the programs. Too many steps took too long but an interesting program. I certainly wouldn't look for anything easier/harder.

ConvertXtoDVD works well and is very straightforward. However, it in not free. I have used AVStoDVD alot in the past for avi conversions, not sure if it works for MKV, I will have to look in to that and it is free.
Edit: Appears that AVStoDVD should support MKV conversions just fine. Excellent.

DVD Flick should handle the MKV files without any conversion necessary. You can then burn the resulting output with ImgBurn. 2 steps and you are done. Usually VobBlanker is only necessary for cleaning up your DVD rips and removing unwanted extras and such. Should not be necessary in this application.

I use DVD Blanker because in makes a more stable menu for the DVD. Just a habit I got into.

Thanks for all the info, guys!
I ended up using AVStoDVD and it seemed to work well, but the audio was missing once the process ended. Weird.
Then I noticed that the version of DVD flick that I was using was not the newest one. So I tried again with the newest version and it worked perfectly.
Problem solved. Thanks again everybody!
