Converting .VOB to ?

Hey guys, new to the forums.

Anyways - I have a ton of .VOB files on my pc from dvd copies I made from when I went from physical dvds to everything on HDDs. I want to be able to watch this dvds on my xbox 360 and my new GoogleTv Revue box. Im really picky about sound and video quality so I want as closed to dvd as possible when converting these. My question is:

What software should I use?
What format should I convert them to (ex - mkv, avi, mp4)?

So that I can enjoy these on both devices.

I use AutoGK and convert to avi, has various quality settings and you can queue multiple jobs.
