How to join two mp4 videos?

Ideally I'd like to be able to play them in iTunes

I've tried MKVmergeGUI, that retains the quality but it wont play in iTunes even if I set the output to an MP4

I also tried XMediaRecode, the file played in iTunes but there was a MASSIVE drop in quality.

What audio are you using?
