Hi,

I am using this machine for video conversion. VHS to DVD. I recently reinstalled XP SP3 and this is the driver version that came with the machine. The machine is a Sony Vaio PCV-rs 431x with Pentium 4, 3.0 ghz processor and 2.5 gb memory plus a Radeon HD 4650 card.

I want to update the audio driver for this old machine. It is a SoundMax Integrated Digital audio chip. I currently have driver version 5.12.1.3622. I believe there are updates out there but I would like to know where a safe download may be. They do not have it on the Sony site.

When I play video on the computer, from a VCR through my ADS DVDXpress DX2 USB I get a slight fluttering in the sound. I am hoping that updating the sound driver may correct this. I have two different ADS units and both do this so it should not be the unit itself. Any other thoughts on that?

Thanks in advance.
