New Blu-Ray burner causing reboot problems

I swapped out an LG CH08LS10 combo drive for a LG WH10LS30K Blu-Ray burner. The drive seemed to install properly and was able to read and burn Blu-Ray discs.

Problem is that now my PC boots are very slow, especially the ones that awake the PC after being set to 'sleep' mode in Window 7 32 bit Home.
It sometimes hangs on reboot, and requires a hard boot to recover.

Anyone have an idea what is going on?
