I see a ton of threads about this, but I can't get straight answers. I can get a 4 gb for under 200 new and I am wondering if this is enough to play games online like Black Ops. If not, is there a way to get extra memory, or is the only way to pay 299 and get the 250 gb?
Thanks again...

How about Install game? I mean, can't you give us more clear details?
You know that you can Install Xbox360 games to your HDD (On top of the Xbox360 console), right?

Yup. Simple.
Turn on your Xbox360
Insert game
DO NOT START game
Press Y
Select Install game option
Wait till it installs...
Play.
(Note: you need your game disc to play it but the disc won't spin so, the disc will be not damaged at all)

But you need the space on your hard drive to copy the game to. Is 4 gig plus a 16 or whatever gig stick enough, or is it really stupid not to get 250 gb?

Damn, I'm that frigging sleepy. Sorry, misread the title. 4GB ain't enough for one XBOX game. You need at least 7GB of free HDD to install it. otherwise you could only use your HDD for DLCs. But, you can buy that 250 GB HDD if you want almost all your games installed in that HDD. Or buy an Xbox with an 250 GB Memory unit. or just the plain HDD. Your choice, mate.

Got ya. I can get the 4 gb for 199 with a 50 gift card making it 150. I've seen the hard drives for under 100. Do the 250gb hard drives work with the 4 gb slim 360? Figured could start with 4 and add...

yup. I got an Xbox360 Arcade with 312MB memory Unit and bought a supposedly 20 GB HDD but turned out to be 16 GB...You can just buy those detachable HDDs (the ones that you attach on top of your XBOX ) not the ones that you use for the PC or Modding or you buy the 250GB Memory unit.
But what your point is your trying to find which Xbox is better withe the large space Memory unit not the detachable HDDs.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy one that has 250gb hdd, also if you get a slim 360 be sure to get a 250gb hdd that is for a slim & not for the original release 360 as they are larger i.e (the large 360's have different hdd housings)
