I've been trying to play this video on my Xbox 360 using my pendrive but the Xbox just says "No videos found" when I insert the pendrive. It is however, able to play .mp4 files. Here's the codec info of the video the X360 cannot detect:

Is it unable to detect the file because it's .mkv or because the audio is DTS?

Use a video converter to change the .mkv and 6 channel audio to something else like avi or mp4.There are loads of converter software to choose from.I personally use Bigasoft total video converter as you can select what platform you are going to play the file in such as xbox 360,ps3,iphone etc and it will convert it to an appropriate format.Very quick conversion and no more mkv and 6 channel audio that a console struggles with.
