So i have a monitor that supports HDMI, but now i am playing via xbox VGA cable. my questions is. can i do the following ?: connect my xbox to monitor via hdmi cable for the video, and connect my xbox to my stereo system via xbox VGA cable using only the audio RCA red and white cables? cause i know hdmi also provides audio, but my monitor has no speakers, and has no audio connection to anything.
p.s. do i need to buy special hdmi cable for xbox360 ? or any hdmi cable is good ? thanx

Good question. I don't know, but would like to know whenever you find out, so try it since you have both cabless.

On a side note, do you think the visuals will really be any better to the naked eye? I use a VGA cable on a 22 inch HP monitor. When I switched to an an HDMI cable, I didn't notice a difference. Just asking.

Use hdmi cable to monitor & get the slim adaptor (the original grey one is too fat so hdmi cable won't fit below it),like these,i use them on mine

monitors aren't that great when it comes to displaying,mines an hd monitor i can't tell the diff either

you know i did this before you could use the hdmi and it does show the game in your monitor but the sound you could actually hook it up to a good speaker. luckily my speakers supports the cables that it has.
