This might be a silly question, people keep saying that I need to use Verbatim 8GB blank DVDs manufactured in Singapore (I believe) to burn my 360 backups, but how do I know where they are manufactured? I can tell that it's Verbatim by looking at the logo.

OK, scratch this, I think I found the answer:
http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/

One issue with it though -- the build date on it is January 10, 2009...

Thanks. Unfortunately mine evidently came loose and I threw it out :(

But still when you buy them, how would you know that these are discs from Singapore?

I ran it thru DVD Identifier and here's what it gave me:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Disc & Book Type : [DVD+R DL] - [DVD+R DL]

Media Type ID : [003]
Product Revision : [Not Specified]
Blank Disc Capacity : [4,173,824 Sectors = 8.55 GB (7.96 GiB)]
Recording Speeds : [2.4x , 3.3x-8x]

You don't know where they are made unless you see the label.
In Canada, I recently bought a 20 pk spindle of MKM-001 2.4X DL from Future Shop that were made in Singapore.

Thanks.

Just curious, is it against the rules on this forum if someone posted a direct link to the actual Verbatim discs that they purchased that worked well for them?

As long as you promise the Mods that they can harvest your organs after death, it's OK.
