So today i had a discussion with my friend about how video games come to an end and how they start. So my question is. Everyday people get bored of the games they were playing for example halo, cod, gears, and so on. So y dont they make a game where its based off of just our opinions as gamers. Yes i know i am sounding nerdy, but seriously. I myself would love to have a game that is free roam, has killing, good graphics, and so on. So kind of a mix between Gta, battlefield, and other games. Although i know it takes a long time to make a game and to make a game like that would be crazy, but its kinda sadening to see series ending and new ones beggining. U kinda get the feeling like "hey that game was amazing. y arent you making more" And then the answer is "because we cant continue this game". and yes thats acceptable but u want the series to continue but the only way u can make it continue is if u do it urself. and noone wants to take the time to do that. Well i will have my rambling stop and to just leave one last thing. Y cant there be a game that amazing, how can u make a game with no end, and how sadening is it so see that u want to make a game better. U want to see a game move on. U want to see this and that happen. But u cant do it. because its impossible for u. And people cant help u, and in the end bungie, treyark, and everybody else is just going to be a pile of dust. And new ones will move in and move out. So my question to u now is Why cant they make a game that has OUR mine set, OUR way of playing, and OUR way of continuing to play without having a care in the world?

You serious about that or did I miss the irony? Far Cry 2 was extremely lame. Ok, it is indeed impossible to finish, because after the first missions you want to throw your controller into the TV because it sucks that much. For a free roam game it is absolutely linear, you finish your missions and move on to the next. Also the graphics were average at best.
If you realy want a good game, try Dead Island. The graphics are acceptable (not extremely good, but acceptable) and it will take you hours and hours of playing, took me something between 60 and 80 hours to finish it, and I didn't even play all the side missions. The game is mostly free roam, only the prison island is pretty linear. Also it has Zombies.
An endless game would be quite something, but you would need a real artificial intelligence for it, to create new scenarios and move on with the stroy, even coicidential scenarious would start repeating themselves once. Also this game would probably kill off most of the gaming industry, because with one game you can play on forever nobody would buy any other games anymore.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.
bets free roam game I have come across is Morrowind .. played for 3 weeks.. got well into the idea of making stacks of cash by stealing stuff from houses and gaining levels by beating up anybody who caught me.. Then one night in a farmhouse in the middle of nowhere.. caught by "farmer".. did the usual and cut him down, gathered up my loot and left to get on the road.. and suddenly I was greeted with the message "do you really want to continue playing in the doomed world you have created" .. well.. wow.. I didn't know there was any "mission" or "story" up to that point..
Another great free roam and do what you want game is the Pirates of the Caribbean.. for all it's faults there is a certain satisfaction when you capture a fort or have 4 first raters under your command..
They do exist, but often they seem a bit clunky because more thought has gone into the "environment" than the dodgy controls and obvious turn based gameplay suggests.. anyway.. there are two old and cheap games which if you haven't seem and want a proper free roam adventure... don't expect to be amazed, expect to have to think and die lots and lots of times.
