Hey all, I recently tried playing Madden 12 (actual copy of game) and half way through the update it stopped.
"Can't read the update from the disc. Please reinsert the disc to continue the update."
I've tried:
-unplugging everything from the system trying again
-reinserting game
-downloading the most up to date update to usb
-swapping out hdd
-without a hdd
Nothing works! Ugh
My system is not modded. Can anyone help me out?
Thanks in advance!

Press and hold the sync button while powering on the unit, if that doesn't remove the update, then you will have to contact Microsoft for repair/ exchange. The only other way I could think of fixing it would be to download a copy of the game off the internet, and get the update from the disc. Then put that update on to a usb drive and see if it finishes the update.

It's well out of warranty.
I've been reading on this problem all day and it seems to mostly only happen to modded systems. Anyone got any input?

if it still has the warrenty sticker intact, ms will repair it/exchange it for $99. Cheaper than buying a new console. plus they can put your xbox live account on hold so you dont get charged/run out of time on it.

Try the update before the latest update on a usb stick it will work. If your drive was flashed even the original disc goes into update loop. The latest dash is 13599 i used 13146 a july update and it continued through usb then update with 13599 via usb reflashed and bobs your uncle.

I actually tried several updates, and none seemed to work. Thanks though.

Unogenius, Are you sure your box is not modded? Same issue with me, tried to update when the games asked me to(do not do this on live if modded box) updates stopped with error code at the end, even with original games, Had it re-flashed with the up to date version I believe it is LT 1.9, now everything is working fine. The update are completing, and all my back-ups are working. Have it re-flashed and it should work fine. Note: I believe a new flash is due out anytime LT+2.0, might wait until it is out. I hope this will help you.
