I have an older PS3, one of the fat models. Ive never had a problem with it playing movies, even back-ups I've burnt. Now, all of a sudden, it wont play any movie. Not a DVD, copy, or BD. Still plays games though. It there something in the settings that may have been changed after an update or is this thing on its way out?

normally if the laser is dying it wont read any discs including games.does its recognise the disc when you put a dvd or blu ray in??????
if it recognises the disc is in there it would be a setting.if it doesnt register that a disc in in there probably the laser is dying.
