It's a bloody insult! One month's free PSN+?! What if we no longer want to support Sony that "compensation" is not only worthless but useless! 1 years PSN+ sub is £40, 3 months is £12, so this has a max value of £4!

Come on guys, the least they can do is give us all an xbox, for those of us who no longer support Sony our PS3s are nothing more than paperweights. Sony should pay the cost of us having to move to xbox!

This is no joke, Sony have shown they do not care for their customers, £4 is Sony mocking us! Tell people to demand an xbox, tell sony we no longer support them!

Hopefully you filled out your information for psn correctly and used a credit card
then you might have a fight to get something back
then maybe you could join the class action lawsuit for when you get your identity stolen
they might just pay out on that one
I agree 1 month of shitty online service is definitely no way to compensate people for identity theft hassles and charges that you will incur trying to fix the damage that the hackers did to your credit

(and if I did sign in I would have used all bogus info because I wouldn't want fony linked to my ps3 or personal info)
so no hope for me getting anything as they did no harm to my identity

but i suggest anyone who did use real info to join the lawsuit and that way the more people who are fighting them the better (stick it to them as hard as they tried sticking it to geo and graf)
let them know that is not acceptable and don't accept the free month as that will probably legally get them off the hook as paid in full for damages

there is a better chance you'll get your xbox money that way than getting them to buy you one

(maybe this is a good time for the scene to open up some new firmwares their lawyers are probably too busy now and their rep is so bad they probably wouldn't dare try suing anyone)

they should also offer to buy online only games back for their purchased price or games that require you to log onto the net to register or start a game if you do not choose to accept their new agreement
as it is their fault that people don't want to connect online anymore or upgrade (or feel safe doing so)
are now unable to play their games

This should be a joke but what's sad is how serious you are. Other than PSN being down how has this affected your life. The only info I could have had stolen was my name, birthdate, address, user id and password for PSN. I did not have a credit card on file. If I did I would have had it canceled when Sony notified by e-mail. This has not affected my life in any way as to require compensation from Sony. Its amazing how people somehow think they are due all these handouts.

erm seriously Sony have stolen the console's features from us.

If we no longer trust sony we will not sign their agreements.
To install the new firmware you need to agree to their agreements.
So as we do not agree we cannot install, installing means we agree.
So no new firmware means that our ps3's can not play the new games which will require firmware 3.61+
No new firmware means no online gaming
No new firmware means no updates for the bluray drive which may be required for new bluray movies.
And the one they got away with otheros.

So if has affected us, we spend £300 on a console only to have all the features stolen from us. Teh joke is people like you cant see this and say, "oh it's only psn that gone down for a few weeks, it'll be back up soon". We dont trust sony any more, the compensation they are giving are for those who stay with sony and the ps3! And as sony have stolen my ps3, I demand a replacement console, the nearest competitor being a xbox 360.

So what is amazing is how sony has stolen so many ps3's from under peoples' noses and you think it isnt a crime!

Why did Sony remove OtherOS? Because of EgoHot. Ergo HE is responsible for it's removal. There were no other "features" that "Sony stole" as the removal of PS2 BWC & 2 USB ports was to help cut costs that are/were directly passed onto the consumer (of which they complained about the price to high hell). Plus lest you forget they ADDED bigger HDD's as well.

Seriously bigo93, you are really losing it man.

I hear sony admitted to removing otheros due to financial costs, and this was stated on their website but quickly removed.

Have I really lost it? Then I ask those of you to not update to 3.61 when it comes out, then wait 6 months then tell me what features you have lost.

Yes, for some people it sucks that otherOS was removed. As you stated if you wanted to continue to use your PS3 online you would have to download the firmware update which would remove otherOS functionality. When Sony removed the OtherOS feature it made my original fat PS3 the model everyone wanted to have. I sold mine on ebay for enough to go out and buy a new slim with a bigger hard drive. It actually was a benefit to me. I guess if you wanted linux support that bad you could just buy 2 PS3's. Sony made the decision because it benefits their bottom line. That's what businesses have to do sometimes. I doubt they did it just to piss a bunch of people off. If it will make you happy sell your PS3 and go buy an X-Box and have fun paying for your LIVE membership.

LOL. Your biggest problem is you take hearsay as fact.Where did you get the info that Sony removed other OS due to cost and then was dumb enough to post it on their site?
Who was the source on this?
Just like you keep insisting that Sony transmits un-encrypted data even though other hackers have refuted this by saying that it only applied to PS3's with CFW.
I bet you believe that Sony's servers were not up to date as well there for that's why the hackers were able to hack it right?
Your a funny fella and I don't mean that in a good way. You keep insisting on getting a 360 for compensation even though Sony has offered a FREE $1 million dollar insurance policy to help a person if his/hers identity was in fact stolen.
In your point of view, Sony has kicked you in the balls repeatedly but yet you still hold on to your PS3's.I can't take you seriously. You remind me of that girl that keeps going back to the same dude even though she is treated badly.
She'll have a list of things that the dude does wrong or has done wrong but despite it all, she just can't give him up.
Thats you bigo93.You bitch and bitch about Sony but you refuse to kick it to the curb because Sony has you hooked. You struggle to get off the hook but for some bizarre reason Sony keeps reeling you in. If I were wrong then you wouldn't have 2 PS3's.
