everything very slow after Hancock back-up to hdd

Hey everyone, I used (as always) Dvdfab to back up my copy of Hancock to the hard drive.
I then used (again as always) dvd shrink.
but it took something like 2 hours to burn the disk?!
The buffer would fill up and empty constantly.
I deleted the file to start again.
Now it takes almost 2 hours to rip the dvd and I cant do anything on my pc. even the cursor is in slow motion!
I have had this happen once before. I was able to do a system restore to fix the problem but this time it just hangs. none of my restore points even work!
Hope someone can help!

I've had similar problems in the past due to a really badly fragmented hard drive. Try a defragment over night and see if it helps. Delete any old files and stuff you don't want any more before the process.
