I have 2 Lite-On ATAPI DH20A4P burners installed. They both read/write audio CDs, they both read/write DVD-R's, and they both will BURN DVD+R's, but neither will READ them. For example, I just make a DVD thru Nero of some home video clips on a Verbatim DVD+R. Nero said it successfully finished the project and the disc plays in a standalone DVD player. In fact, all of my +R discs play in a standalone, but not my computer will not read them. It does this with ALL +R media, even stuff burned through IMGBURN.
My system is XP SP3, and I only use Verbatim media on single-layer burns. For some reason, my Memorex +R DL's can be read just fine. I have tried probably 30 +R discs in both drives and none of them work. What is crazy is that it has not always been like this. Over the last year I have probably done 200 burns on these drives with +R discs. I have no clue what has changed.
I have gone thru the sensible steps....checked firmware (current), even uninstalled the 2 drives and the IDE channel they are on. After re-installation, I got the same result.
