Hi I am using nero or imgburn if I burn some movies from my ide drive they get done 2 times the speed then if I burn from my new high speed sata drive it takes ages (50 minutes easy for a 4.5gb dvd)using a 16*dvd-r burner
Any ideas?

Do you have the same writing speed enabled in both the cases? If yes, then the problem that you are facing will most probably be due to the improper connection of the SATA drive. Because normally the SATA drives have a higher data transfer rate as compared to that of the IDE ones. Just check your SATA drives for some errors in the connection.
