I don't use DRM removers much. I use tunebite when I do that seems to work just find when I do.

I suggest you install and run peerguardian and have it running when you play non-DRMed music. Have the window opened when you do so you can see what happens. Most players that are given out by companies that sell music put trojens inside. They call for spiders to check out your computer so see what you have if you are connected to the internet when you play the music. They are taking inventory on what you have. If the laws change, they know who to go after even if you have been good for years.

Wait, so online music stores actually store trojans on their music to track it? Isn't that illegal? Putting malicious software on a supposed legitimate purchase.

No and yes.

Not in the music but in the players. Yes, it is illegal if they admitted to it. They will state they are just helping to out by checking the tag info. The robot things are truly illegal however, they are faceless. They gather info in stealth and that information is only stored away since it was illegally obtained.

Yeah, I ran peerguardian while playing some non-DRM music in Windows Media player, tons of http blocks occured. But whenever I searched them on the net, it just came up like radio stations and information retrieval companies getting statistics on music ya know? But I never really saw any suspicious transfers or should say attempts.

They were blocked. No one I know, knows what the robots are doing but it can't be good unless they are just making the public nervous. If that is their goal they have been very successful.

Just because you didn't see the transfer don't mean it did not happen or do you think the robot swarm was just luck?
