I have several DVD-audio discs. I do not own a DVD-Audio player. I am looking to rip the DVD-Audio tracks and convert them to another format so as to retain the Advanced Resolution Surround (48HZ/24 bit). I have a Harman Kardon AVR 254 w/ HDMI that can handle any audio format on the market. I own an HD DVD player and Blu-ray. So far I have found a program that has ripped the audio tracks to multi-channel WAV files and also can isolate each surround channel (leaving 6 channels per song) What software would I need to burn these files to DVD-5 in a format that my Blu-ray or HDDVD player and receiver can recognize and play in their native resolution. Is there a multichannel wav to TrueHD or DTS HD converter that can convert the files and then burn to DVD-5. (I do not have a HD disc burner). Any help is appreciated.

A stupid question that needs asking. Did you try playing it in a DVD video player that handles surround sound? I figure you would not have surround sound if nothing you had could use it.

I have been playing DVD-Audio discs through a standard DVD video player for a while now. The surround feature of the discs are available to me in every player I own, however only by using the Dolby Digital track. The dolby digital 5.1 track is not 5.1 24-bit/96hz that the DVD-Audio, Advanced Resolution track offers. I really don't want to have to buy a DVD-Audio player, since i already have 3 players that will play dvds (XBOX 360, Blu-ray, and a Toshiba HD DVD A2). If I can convert the high resolution 6 channel wav files that I've ripped to a Hi-Def PCM format, through HDMI, I could enjoy the full sound that the albums offer. I just don't know if a program that'll do that exists.

well considering that HD-DVD has been a dead format for about two years now (thank god, bluray is way superior), sell your HD-DVD player and use the money to buy a DVD-Audio player. you're not going to be able to burn the isolated tracks to a DVDR that will play in a DVD player. they are completely different formats. go buy a DVD-Audio player

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:
