Hello folks,
I want to manage a huge mp3 file and navigate through it as it was a book; I want to hear "chapters" by choosing them from a readable index.
Perhaps a cue file could make the job. I could use mp3directcut in order to find the relevant timing for the "chapters", but it's horribly boring to edit the correspondent cue file.
I'm sure that a solution exists, but I'm not able to find it.
Can anyone help me? Thanks

You are not supposed to double post like you did.

I figure it is unlikely that any software could figure where YOU think the chapters should be. So I doubt that anyone would make software that wouldn't please anyone and of course no one wants to pay for all the work.

You could make a mail merge to make your cue file.

Sorry for the absolutely unintentional double posting; troubles in the registration (spam filtering, brain fatigue in the night hours) induced me in error; I realized pretty soon the mistake, but I was not able in deleting the double thread.
In regard to the topic, I try a better description.
I'm dreaming for a software that, like many others (e.g. the mentioned mp3direct cut), helps in the interactive job of finding the timing, but which in addition, in the meanwhile, creates the backbone of the cue file, i. e. the TRACK number and, more importantly, creates the INDEX timing, and the contextual determined TITLE .
I don't realize if this is an unrealistic dream or on the contrary it's a perfectly easy job.
Finally what did you mean for "You could make a mail merge to make your cue file "?
Thanks for your kindness

The double post does not bother me but a moderator may zing you.

You put the times in a spreadsheet you then use word to mailmerge the times into a roughed out cue file. Several persons through the ages have had good success.

If anyone would be wacky enough to do something like that for free it would be a user that belongs to the developers forum for Media Monkey. MM can internalize VB scripts that get added into that audio app. They could add a button that would append a time index to a csv file. That shouldn't be very hard to do.

Dear folks, and in particular dear MEZ
who made an effort to help me!
I said before I don't realize if this is an unrealistic dream or on the contrary is a perfectly easy job.
I believe that is the second hypothesis that is true!
It seems to me that the mp3directcut option special and then save the Cue sheet and edit in notepad should achieve almost perfectly my dream.
I regret I was not able to clearly explain my question. But if one manage in well explaining a question, than the problem is nearly solved...
