I am hoping this is an OK forum for iTunes discusiion. It really doesn't fit any header.
I am having trouble opening iTunes. I am running IE 8. I can open it on secondary users but not the primary. I took down a list of processes running in the secondary users login, went back to the primary user and shut down all other processes one at a time trying to open iTunes after each shutdown. No Luck. I also ran my antivirus (nothing) and shut down the firewall. No Luck. I also uninstalled 6 Apple programs related to the iTunes/Quicktime download, rebooted and reinstalled. No Luck. Am I missing something obvious here? Has anyone else experienced this?

This in one place, there is an ipod forum but actually, most of the users that reply in that forum frequent this one more. You still ought to post your query there since the users that frequent that forum and not this often only use itunes. I would also check Window OS I bet it is an IE8 or OS issue not a itunes issue. Try firefox. I might want to check for a virus. Saying you ran your antivirus gives me the creeps! Isn't it running all the time? I get viruses even with 2 scanners running together. Not recommended but each catches things the other misses. Monthly, I boot in safe mode reinstall a maleware scanner and run that and some months it STILL finds a virus. Granted I use 2 free scanners. I can get a better heavy duty scanner free from my ISP but I can't turn off the routine scan of my disks. I have way too much disk space for that or live with a very slow computer. I prefer an occasional virus to running at 1/3 speed and be 'safe'. What I use only checks in coming and out going.
