I have a direct tv dvr and i would like to know how to take the movies i have dvr and put them on my computer? Is there a way to do that or am i kind of screwed on getting the movies off of it?

3 things change title of thread to something more descriptive of what you want to achieve or thread will more than likely be closed then use report button to have thread moved to correct section,forum rules below

Add make & Model of DVR you may also find an operators manual at
http://www.manualsonline.com/ which may have instructions on how to transfer,at a guess if it doesn't have ethernet you may be able to hook up a usb cable & have the comp detect it as a drive or storage device or use a thumb drive or burn the movies to dvd+rw then rip them to the comps hdd,free software below will do that
