My Cable Wi Fi wireless signal was always reading "no signal-low-very low" until i found the following by googling>"How to Increase Your Wi-Fi Signal Strength with an Aluminium foil". Now my signal shows good-very good (4 bars out of 5) and it has to go through two walls travelling 35 feet. This saved me spending a lot of money on access point/wireless repeater. Hope this helps others.(attached). I`m still working on improving it.

did you try it by just putting foil behind, blocking the signal from going that direction!
also point your ariel the direction you need it

(1) At present the foil is temporarily behind the modem/router as in the attachment in my original post. (2) My modem/router has 2 internal antenae so by curving the alfoil setup it`s directing the signal forward and so my signal has improved to good and very good. I intend to improve on it with the alfoil glued to cardboard.

Thanks. Do you know where the internal antenaees would be in this modem/router? It`s a Netgear CGD24n v2 color black.

(1) Yes, i hav considered that, i`ll give it a try. (2) It`s great how the alfoil has improved the speed too, from no signal-low to very good and higher speeds.

ive got bedroom on 1 side with router and sitting room on the other
with 6ft width of concreate going round or in between the two at 1 point, so signal is bad and speed aint much better :(

There`s good advice if you google>"How to Increase Your Wi-Fi Signal Strength with an Aluminium foil". My modem has internal antenaes so i had to make my setup to suit, those in the demonstrations have external aerials. It really works.

Hello again. I found that cordless phones, microwaves etc., can affect the Cable Wi Fi wireless signal strength, particularly, if a cordless phone of 2.4ghz is the same frequency as the Cable Wi Fi wireless settings. My ISP technician changed the channel in my wireless settings and now the signal is always "excellent". Also he said it`s important that the region be set correctly for the country and not to have it set at automatic. Hope this could help some.
