Sims 3 problem HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!

When I go to start my sims3 launcher it takes forever to load then when it does and I press play My screen goes black with the start bar still showing it takes about 45 mins to an hour to load to the loading screen. Then once it gets to the loading screen it takes another 45 mins to an hour to get to main menu. Once I click on my sim game it goes to the loading screen and after three hours with no progress I gave up and shut it down. I checked my task manager and not once did it say that the game was not responding. I have no idea whats wrong I just want to finish my vacation home.:( Please help
