sony dvd rw q28a not burning full dvd

the problem with my sony dvd writer is that it burned only 5 dvds and now it does not burn any to its full capacity. The burn process gets automatically aborted after writing 50 to 70% of the data.Wasted 8 dvds to try varoius burner software.Is it due to low space on driveC which is 5GB in my case. Kindly help.
