i just bought 2 discs for PS2 v13 (SCPH-77001) that don't work with USB plug.
Ok, first one is GameShark 5.3 broadband enabled. It lets me download codes+saves from online. Surprise, surprise i plugged in Kingston 16GB plug & it recognized it! But it would only let me copy from USB to PS2 memory card. it could _NOT_ copy from MC to Usb plug. It could download saves+codes to MC only.
Other disc is Codebreaker 9.2 yellow disc. I plug in same Kingston 16GB plug & it doesn't recognize it. Nothing! PS2 freezes with CB9.2 when i put in Usb before boot. Put Usb in after boot, does not see it.
i have friend who has Action Replay Max, tells me it also uses Usb devices.
Is there a way to defeat this evil Sony lockout? Older v12 i owned did not do this!!
