CONVERTING NTSC TO PAL

Hi

Please advise how can I play the NTSC games on my PAL PS2.

I have PS2 SCPH79002. I currently play a few PAL games very well. But just received more games from America. These are NTSC games..

Oh I just checked around in some well known Electronic shops here. But they do not have the converter or even the sap magic. All they can do is upgrade the PS2. I heard from friends that upgrading ps2 shortens it's life time. The local suppliers of ps2 also said that once upgraded, my ps2 will be able to read even copied disks of either version, PAL or NTSC.

Please advise this is a good idea and I should go ahead and get my machine upgraded..

I assume by upgrade you mean modify. While it's true that after doing a modification it will read an ntsc game however the video may not be correct on the screen because the game is still providing an NTSC signal to your PAL tv. Only way around this would be to convert the game to PAL.
