Hi, I need your experience with this camera, but will also take recommendation on other brands. I need a new camcorder (old: panasonic mini vhs tape). I want to get flash memory camcorder and all reviews seem to point to canon hf11. I already bought and returned canon fs11 because of grainy indoor, low light shots. Reviews say HD camcorders are better in low light situations because of bigger sensors, but one other review says avchd format tends to produce grainy videos in low lights, although I hope less grainy than standard definition. I am talking about indoors that are lighted by 4-5, 60-75 watt light bulbs, candle lighted birthday cake shots, fluorescent lighted auditorium, school plays, etc. Actually I was satisfied with standard definition camcorder for outdoor, sunny videos but indoor shots were really bad. This is not what I saw on the display but what I saw after copying to the dvd disk. By the way, I don't plan to edit on the computer, just copy directly from the camcorder to dvd disk using my dvr, in real time.
