HD CAMCORDER FOR MY NEW MAC

I just purchased a new Mac desktop and I wanted to purchase an HD camcorder. My applications will be some real estate and some movie making.

I have a few questions for someone who has experience with these topics:

1. What manufacturer is best integrated with the Mac?
2. Any models easier to work with?

I was told to look for high DPI, 108 and with an internal hardrive to save the content...Are these good parameters?

Any help would be appreciated.
