Hello everyone. I have become familiar with this community, and see there is much talent in the Xbox scene. I am apart of the DstroyerGaming community, which currently has a great music library for the popular FretsOnFire PC/Linux alternative to RockBand or Guitar Hero. The entire thing is legit, and creating your own songs is simple. Check out:
Many of you know USB connection to an Xbox is not a hard task. Developing an xbox game with OpenXDK is also a legal option. We plan to gather a team and create FretDstroyer, which will convert FretsOnFire from the PC to an Xbox XBE, allowing a songs folder to be accessed via FTP for infinite music libraries. The FretsOnFire source code is provided in compliance with the AGPL, which allows any user to modify and redistribute the source code. Therefore our project would be in compliance with that license, allowing anyone to change or improve our game.
This project is in tribute of FretsOnFire, and hoping to expand the experience to a console. We do not plan on infringing any copyrights of Harmonix or Activision, so we will not provide any mods or themes based on their intellectual property. However, the PC version of the game allows infinite customization by adding your pictures, such as fret notes, guitar necks, etc, into folders. We will leave the game fully customizable. Just FTP content in. We will try to make the Xbox version of this game as compatible with the customizing available for the PC/Linux.
This project will comply with many legal developing rights, more will be disclosed on our website once it is underway. We are asking the AfterDawn community for support. If there are developers here, or people interested in being apart of this project, please PM me or reply to this thread. There are plenty of contributions people can make, such as custom themes, artwork, however the development stage is more of what we need. Any talents with XBE dev is welcome. Anyone familiar with scripting USB devices for Xboxs, and many more aspects. Once the project is finished, it will be released for the public, and anyone will have the right to modify and redistribute it. We hope to really make the old xbox the powerful multimedia and party gaming device it is capable of.
