Code 39 Error on my Pioneer DVD-RW - plz help!

So I tried to read a disc on my Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-111D drive and the drive isnt being detected, nor is my other Philips DVD drive. Both have yellow exclamation points next to them. I get the Code 39 Error:
"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"
I tried to rollback the driver for the Pioneer and its saying "no driver files have been backed up for this device." So I tried updating it. Then it says " Wizard could not find a better match for the software than what you have installed." All I can figure is one of those microsoft updates screwed up my drivers. I dont know what im supposed to do now. Any help would be appreciated. Ive had both drives for like 5 years and never had issues with them until recently. Thanks.
