Hi everyone, I'm having a bit of a problem. I just recently bought two dvd burners, one an LG drive running on PATA, the other a Sony Optiarc running on SATA, and I have not had any luck in getting them to work correctly. The drives are recognized by both the bios and Windows device manager as actual DVD/CD drives, but when I go to My Computer, it labels them as DVD-RAM Drives, and even worse, when I put in blank media, such as a DVD-R, it says that the drive is a CD drive. I'm not sure what to do here.

Here's a note, I just recently did a massive upgrade overhaul to my computer and had to reload XP all the way to SP3. By upgrade overhaul, I mean that I installed new motherboard, new graphics, RAM, and a new processor. I'm pretty sure that I got all the cables and wires in their right spots, but is it possible that I may have screwed something up along the installation and managed to mix wires? Also, I disconnected the PATA drive to have the SATA work.

The models of DVD burners are LG GH22NP20 and Sony Optiarc AD-7240S-0B.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me on what to do.
