DVD R/RW: XP vs. Me

I installed XP Pro and an older computer I had laying around (emachines T3256), and XP installed the LiteOn DVDRW SOHW-832S as a NEC DVDRW ND-2510A. It isn?t working properly and I can?t burn a DVD. I have the driver for the LiteOn drive but it?s an exe which won?t install because it doesn?t recognize the drive make and model. I can uninstall the drive through device manager, however when I try to install new hardware LiteOn drives are not an option when I try to manually select a driver. What can I do here???
