I recently purchased this external drive and so far it has been great. I've searched around for updated firmware but I have come up empty. Could anyone tell me what the latest firmware is and where to get it?

Also, when trying to burn on Verbatim 16x media, with a write speed of 12x, the average write speed is typically around 6x and the max has been no greater than 10x. What is the cause of that? Could it be because it is hooked up via USB?

Any help is appreciated.
