Hey, i have a sony vaio laptop (VGN-FE770G) that came stock with a MATSHITA DVD burner (UJ-8505) It is having problems playing burned dvd's/cd's. Most of the dvd's/cd's i'm trying to play/access were burned on this same dvd-burner. But now it won't play them read them, even though it wrote to them. I have had three different brands of media 2 premium, 1 cheap (TDK, SONY, MAXELL) all three brands of dvd's play back perfectly fine on my old philips stand alone dvd player....that was made before dvd-burners were even commonly available as consumer products.

and some disks work sometimes but not always, while other disks never work (of the same media type, and all burned on this same dvd burner) for example, last night, i put in a backed up dvd (burned on maxell dvd by this burner) movie played fine, today, when i had to restart my computer it would no longer read that same dvd??????

Just wondering if there are any driver updates or anything to fix this kinda problem or am i screwed, and have to buy a new burner for my laptop?
