I recently had a problem with my XP machine not booting up due to a corrupt file. Only way I got it back up and running was to put it in another PC and run a chkdsk on it which seemed to repair the problem as it now boots up as normal. Problem now is that both DVD ROM and DVD-RW are not recognised when I put a disk in. I have tried several disks that were working previuosly and they all work on another PC. I can't even see any files on the disks.
View Hidden files are checked.
Have checked cables and they all seem ok
Both lights light up at boot up
Devices are shown as working correctly in device manager.

Any suggestins welcome
