How do I burn .dts wav files to play thru my dvd player

I am having a problem burning an album that I have on my hard drive. The files are named with a .dtswav extension. I saw on here that any cd burning software should burn this and be playable on a machine with a DTS decoder. I have Nero 7 Ultra but it doesn't see the files at all when I go to add them to burn. My computer says windows does not recognize this file format. I copied the file and changed the extension to just .wav and the only program that would play it was VLC in 2 channel stereo, MPC wont recognize it in either format. Any help in burning this folder to cd would be greatly appreciated.
