The only way to get a 5.1 Speakers Audio System working 100% in a Laptop are Via HDMI or that the Laptop comes equiped with special Audio Media Card that Supports 5.1 or higher
if u laptop does not have either of these :
--> HDMI port
--> Any Special Sound Card
u will not get a 5.1 or higher sound system working as it should work
now through the HDMI when u connect the HDMI cable to the laptop (if available) in u Audio device manager a new icon will appear that could be
- HDTV ( u will need go into audio setting and set it right to what ever system u are using. I personally use this one with my 3D Sony HDTV and a 7.1 System i gotta tell ya sounds awesome )
- some Home Theater System support HDMI ( this one will be most of times automatic according to the system output could be 5.1 or higher. Not sure i haven't test).
