Right now my PS3 is wired via HDMI to my TV. Then I use the L & R stereo outs on my TV to a 4-speaker 2.0 system.

My problem is, when I play blurays & most DVDs, the dialogue is significantly quieter than the movie's soundtrack & sound effects (i.e. action sequences)

When I run my comcast HD box to my TV via component w/ left and right audio outs, the sound is generally balanced. I can only assume this is because everything is stereo with the cable box, as opposed to the PS3 which is 5.1 or 7.1.

Will upgrading my system solve my problem with volume jumps?
