Hi - this is probably a really stupid question, but I have a PSP with 1.50 installed, and with UMD Emulator and Devhook on it...is it possible to run a regular game bought from a shop on it? I can't work out how to do it, as with the disc in all it tells me is that I have to "update the system software". I can't seem to get the thing to work through UMD Emulator or Devhook either. The game in question is Football Manager Handheld by the way.
Hope someone can help, I'm gagging for a game of FM..

I'm trying that but it's not having it. Do the Devhook settings have to be a certain way? I do have the "UMD DISC" option selected obviously.
Or is there a way to boot it up through UMD Emulator?
Or is there another emulator I can use...?

I've never actually got Devhook to work, I've always used UMD Emulator to load an iso. Perhaps I don't have it installed correctly? I did follow the instructions to the letter though.

Oh dear...I've just installed that, and when I try to run Devhook it seems to reboot the PSP, and then hang on the "Sony Computer Entertainment" screen. Have I done something wrong?

Check your settings :)
Put your WiFi switch off (just in case)
DevHooks settings:
UMD SELECT - --UMD DISC--
UMD MOUNT - UMD DISC
UMD VERSION - 2.xx-> 2.00
FIRMWARE - 2.71
CPU CLOCK - 222/111
BOOT SELECT - reboot XMB
OTHER > REMOTE CTRL - "No Change"
OTHER > preload address - "No Change" (89000000) default
OTHER > USB OPTION - ON if you use USB and loads ISO from PC
OTHER > SCREENSHOT OPTION - "No Change" Disabled by default

if you want to load up an iso, make sure you dont have the "put your iso and cso files here.iso" selected. find the iso you want first, then put a umd in.

I'm not trying to load an iso, I'm trying to load the UMD disc that I've bought from a shop.
I've just formatted the memory stick, installed Device Hook using the installer, changed the settings to exactly the way listed above, and it's still telling me I need to update the system software when I go to the UMD.
Does anyone know if Football Manager causes problems for Devhook? Or if there's something else I can use?

K hopefully this helps-
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/648 d/l that and select the 1st option ie..Devhook 0.45 with FW 2.71 and install on your PSP and use these settings-
UMD SELECT - --UMD DISC--
UMD MOUNT - UMD DISC
UMD VERSION - 2.xx-> 2.00
FIRMWARE - 2.71
CPU CLOCK - 222/111
BOOT SELECT - reboot XMB
OTHER > REMOTE CTRL - "No Change"
OTHER > preload address - "No Change" (89000000) default
OTHER > USB OPTION - ON if you use USB and loads ISO from PC
OTHER > SCREENSHOT OPTION - "No Change" Disabled by default
Exactly these settings I think its freezing at the logo becAuse haven't selected clock speed as 222/111.

Not sure what the problem was to be honest -I did have it set to 222/111 when it wasn't working, but the version of Devhook I had didn't include the same options, there seemed to be a couple missing. Anyway, I installed through that last link posted and put the settings exactly as listed and I'm now managing Northampton Town!

It's quality. Unfortunately, I suck at it...second-bottom, two wins in 11 games...
