Backup PSX game on PS2?

I recently downloaded a backup of FF7 and burnt it using CDRWIN. I have a modified PS2 but I was unable to play the CD on there. Anybody know what may have caused this? :(

you need a neo key modchip or gameshark discs to boot PS1 games on your PS2.
