hi, i had a problem last night whereby BOTH my pioneer 116 dvd-rom and my sony DRU510A dvd writer couldnt read any cds. I would put the cd in and the drives would act as though there was no cd present. I could brun ok and read dvds ok. I came here and noticed a lot of people have had similar problems, some not exactly the same as mine but since ive figured it out ill post.

Basically, i just removed VCDeasy, a piece of software lol.

I realised my problems started after i had installed this, so if you are having problems either remove VCDeasy or try and think of what youve installed recently that could be causing conflicts.

maybe you connect it wrong or the dvd rom could be defected....
