hey id first like to thank god for afterdawn.com you guys have helped me start burning dvds. i was wondering can someone give me complete details on what i have to do to burn ps2 games or xbox games?
what discs do i need?
special software?
mod chip?
any info, id appreciate it
dvd-r discs will work in all ps2 versions for backup games, if you have a v5+ ps2 then you can use dvd+r also(some v4 and lower versions have problems reading dvd+r), would also recomend you use good quality dvdr discs for your backups,
for software DVD Decrypter, nero6, record now, alcohol 120% all work well, check out this thread on how to use them http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/15105 you will either need to fit a mod chip or use a boot disc in conjunction with the slide card/flip top to boot your backup games, there are various mod chips avalible depending on the version of ps2 that you have
as for x box can't help that much as i'm just learning how to do that properly myself
Im definately a newb here, and i always knew there was a way to back up PS2 discs. I just didnt know how, now im slowly learning, so my question is what is a mod chip?
im pretty much completely clueless in this topic, ANY advice would be GREATLY accepted.
thanks
a mod chip is a chip you install in your ps2 and it allows you to play backups...you can also use Swap Magic disk if your machine is under warrenty and you dont want to void it...mod chips are difficult to install unless you are really good a soldering..do some searching for mod chips and swap magic disk and you will find a lot of info on what path you should take.
