I/O error (on 2 drives! samsung / pioneer) on reading the disc at start...
i am going back to v3.2.3.0 for now!
the disc in question is LORD OF THE RINGS (The Two Towers) also to note in dvd shrink it works fine as we speak! its ripping like a good one!
NOTE! i have SP2 installed for windows xp pro now i wonder?????? maybe? maybe not?
Error window:
any help guys on this problem please let me know..
I have Windows XP Pro SP2. The little I have used DVD Decrypter v3.5.0.0 it has worked fine for me.
I don't know what would be causing that error for you, but I will take this opportunity to list a little about I/O interfaces.
Windows XP comes with a SPTI I/O interface.
DVD Decrypter will default to SPTI on a XP.
I prefer to use a ASPI interface.
You need to install ASPI on XP to use this option.
I use ForceASPI 1.8.
http://forceaspi18.w.interia.pl/ Tools > Settings > I/O > ASPI
You can also use other I/O interfaces.
You can try ASAPI.
You should have ASAPI if you have VOB/Pinnacle Instant CD/DVD or it can be downloaded separately from Pinnacle.
You can try ElbyCDIO.
You should have ElbyCDIO if you have Elby CloneDVD or CloneCD or it might be available separately at other sites.
You can try Patin-Couffin.
You should have Patin-Couffin if you have CopyToDVD, DVD43 1.4 or most 321 software like DVDXCopy. Patin-Couffin is also available as a separate download here on AfterDawn and other sites.
I don't know if that information will help but I guess it is worth tying different I/O interfaces to see if they will solve a I/O Error.
after i wrote the first thread above i went on to try the diferent i/o interfaces first 3 i think loaded in (there on my system!) the elby and patin coffin are not and i dont want to load all these things as they can bring there own problems...
as older Decrypter versions work fine!
so for now i have gone back to v3.2.3.0 and the disc in question ripped no problem on default SPTI, as have all discs i have thrown at it!
just seems odd? i think i will leave a couple of versions to see if it gets ironed out! but if anyone definately knows the problem here due to experiencing it themselves please let me know asap!
i have put this on Decrypter furom just in case the maker knows whats going on.
Thank you for your help Veblin
NOTE i run serial SATA 2x HD's on mirror raid! i only have 3 cd/dvd drives on the normal eide ATA connectors, i also use hyperion via4in1 drivers...

Well well would you believe it! its funny i wrote the problem on my second post right at the end! yup! the culprit are the VIAHyperion 4in1 gaming enhanced drivers! they throw up that my drives are SCSI interface which there not, so i went back to the normal VIA 4in1 from asus for the mobo and all is fine now! (latest drivers too)
now the credit for this find goes to LIGHTNING_UK the maker of decryter/furom he spotted it in the picture!
Dont you just love furoms! got me out the sh*T in a couple of hours! not god dam bad going that....
You're not alone, I get the same error with 3.5.0.0 and WinXP pro SP2. Before sp2 got no errors at all. I Just formatted and installed sp2 this week and started getting the same errors a few times in the middle and at the end. I got a plextor 708A. I'm just gonna end up going back to 3.2.3.0.
