What would be some good web sights for downloading movies and burning to a dvd. I would like to keep as much quality as possible.

You could always start by sending an email to these guy's and asking. Justy give them you're personal information and they will fix you up!

The site drchips linked to contains films that are perfectly legal to download. I suggest getting ahold of DOA as it's one of the best of the old noir films :)

Nephilim,

i went to the link you gave www.archive.org and downloaded DOA-(1949). I love old black and white movies.
My question is i have used GSpot to find out more about the file, It says its a MPG.MPEG.VOB file. How can i convert this file to burn onto disc???

sonik: The link posted to DOA (a great film noir btw) allows you to download the mpeg-2. Mpeg-2 is dvd compliant. What you need is dvd authoring software to author the mpeg into a dvd compatible VIDEO_TS folder format. I use Neo dvd plus, if you have Nero it comes with Nerovision which will author that file into a dvd. You should have no problem finding dvd authoring software, they are pretty popular products now that dvd burners and dvd's are so cheap.

BTW, Jdk670: www.archieve.org (at least as far as I know) is the only place on the net with collections of dvd compliant mpeg-2 films that you can legally download. Anything else, such as peer 2 peer downloading of movies and such is illegal and thus, not an appropriate topic for this forum. If you like a film, buy it...if you're unsure, rent it.
