Silent Scope 3 cdr backup prob

Ok, I just got the swap magic 3 set. I have been trying the whole day to test it out by backuping up my silent scope 3 game. I sucessfully made a backup using alcohol 120 and the game into a cdr (tdk). If I am not mistaken silent scope 3 is a cdr game. I used the slide card method and swap disc method to load the game, but all i get a purple border, and I have no idea what this means. The game does not load up or anything. Is there a special option that i suppose to choose such as NTSC,PAL, or special boot? Or is there something else I am missing. Also, I am not sure if this is a major issue but when I load the swap magic cd, my ps2 reads the cd but there are scratching sounds while doing so. Can someone give me a solution or any help?

its possible that it is a dvd. look on the disc, it will say compact disc or dvd rom.
